பத்மஸ்ரீ, பத்மபூஷன் விருதுகள்

தமிழில் எழுத்தாளர்களுக்கு பஞ்சம் இல்லை ,அதிலும் அந்த காலத்தில் எங்களைப் போன்றவர்களுக்கு தமிழின் அழகை படித்து ரசிக்க சொன்னதே, கல்கி, கண்ணதாசன், சுஜாதா, இந்துமதி , லக்ஷ்மி, சிவசங்கரி, கோ.வி.மணிசேகரன், ஜெயகாந்தன் போன்றவர்கள் தான்.


இவர்களில் முக்கியமாக குறிப்பிட வேண்டியது,  கல்கி , பிறகு கண்ணதாசன் ,சுஜாதா அவர்கள்.


கல்கியின் பொன்னியின் செல்வன், பார்த்திபன் கனவு, அலை ஓசை, ரொம்பவே வாசகர்கள் மனதில் ஆணிவேராக படிந்த காவியங்கள்.


சிறு வயதில், யார் முதலில் படிப்பது  படித்துவிட்டு முன் கூட்டியே கதை சொல்லாமல் இருப்பது, பிறகு அதை பற்றிய சர்ச்சையில் பங்கேற்பது என்று ரொம்பவே ஆழ்ந்து மூழ்கி கரைத்துக் குடித்து இருக்கோம் கல்கி அவர்களின் நாவல்களை .


கவிஞர் கண்ணதாசன் பாடாத  விஷயம் இல்லை, ஒவ்வொரு  பாட்டும்   உயிரோவியமாக கண் முன்னே   வந்து கதை சொல்லும். இந்தகாலப் பாட்டெல்லாம் பாட்டா? அவருடைய பாட்டுக்கள் எந்த காலத்திற்கும் சரிப்படும். என்ன கற்பனை, என்ன வருணனை,என்ன சொல் வண்ணம் , சொல் வித்தை!

எழுத்தாளர் சுஜாதா தீர்க்க தரிசியாக கம்ப்யூட்டர் காலத்தை பற்றி முன் கூட்டியே சொன்னவர். அவருடைய கற்பனைக்கு அளவே இல்லை. நல்ல கற்பனை வளத்துடன் ஹாசியமாகவும்,கருத்துகளுடனும் அந்த கால இளைஞர்களைஅவருடைய எழுத்தால்  அவர் பக்கம் ஈர்த்துக் கொண்டார்.


இதில் வருத்தப் படக்கூடியது  என்ன வென்றால், கல்கி அவர்களுக்கோ,கண்ணதாசனுக்கோ, இல்லை சுஜாதா அவர்களுக்கோ தமிழ் நாட்டு அரசு எந்த விதத்திலும் மரியதை செலுத்தவில்லை , அவர்களை ஒரு சிறந்த பெருமை வாய்ந்த வர்களாக மடித்து ஒரு அவார்டும் கொடுத்ததில்லை . ஏன் இந்த பாரா முகம்?


தமிழக முதல்வர் கலைஞரே ஒரு சிறந்த எழுத்தாளர் ,அப்படி இருக்க அவர் நினைத்தால் ஏன்  ஒரு பட்டம் கொடுக்க முடியாது, இல்லை,பத்மஸ்ரீ  , பத்ம விபூஷன்   பட்டம் தேசிய கமிட்டிக்கு கிடைக்க சிபாரிசு செய்யக் கூடாது?


 பாட்டுப் புலவர் மஹா கவி பாரதியார் எழுதாத பாடல்களா, தீர்க்க தரிசியாக நல்ல நல்ல கவிதைகளை தமிழ் மக்களுக்கு கொடுத்தவரை என்றாவது, கவிஞர் மேற்கொள்ள் காட்டியிருக்கார அல்லது, உயர்வாக  பேசி இருக்காரா? 

நல்லஎழுத்தாளனுக்கு அடையாளம் மற்றொரு எழுத்தாளனை அங்கீகரிப்பதுதான் . அதற்கு பரந்த மனது வேண்டும்.


நான் நினைத்து என்ன பிரயோஜனம்?

தற்போது வந்திருக்கும்  வைரமுத்து, பா. விஜய்  போன்றவர்களின் படைப்பை விட நான் சொன்னவர்களின் படைப்புகளில் என்ன குறை?


தமிழக முதலமைச்சருக்கு ஒரு சில சமுகத்தை சேர்ந்தவர்களைக் கண்டால் பிடிக்காது , அவர் கமலஹாசனை எல்லா கருத்தரங்களுக்கும் அழைப்பு விடுப்பதே , அவர் கடவுள் நம்பிக்கை இல்லாதவர் என்பதால் தானே! 

விசால மனசுடன் கலைஞர் மு. கருணாநிதி ஒரு புலவன் மற்றொரு புலவரை அங்கீகரிப்பது தான் தலையாய கடமையாக  நினைத்து, சுஜாதா, கண்ணதாசன், மற்றும் கல்கி ,பாரதியாருக்கு விழா எடுப்பதே  பெரிய காரியமாக கருதி நல்லதை செய்யட்டும்!

when I said state recognition i meant 'Padma' awards-not the ones given by Tamil Nadu state-There may be many good writers-but the ones who have influenced other writers and made even a common man pick up a book and read are a select few-a writer need not be a revolutionary in his thoughts to stand out-Sujatha could write about even the most poignant aspects of life in a strikingly simple language yet making an impact.

Emotions were never overt,only subtle.His unique style is incomparable till date.Kalki-to say the least, is timeless-I've known people -educated, modern people travelling to Kodikkarai just to connect with the shore there with a secret hope of finding a Poonguzhali for themselves!

Personally for myself, if Mahabalipuram holds any interest, it's not any superficial tourist curiosity but the romance behind those sculptures that transport one to centuries past-history of pallavas and Cholas came alive for me thru kalki-which no history text book could do.

It takes one great mind to know another and a magnanimous heart to acknowledge another, irrespective of caste or creed-maybe the fact that Kalki and Sujatha were born into a particular caste is their undoing-both, in my opinion never negated religion or Faith yet were most forwrd in their thinking-theirs was the ever-widening thought and action-as Tagore envisaged.The more popular u are the more jealous others are of you.

Coming to think of it I would be happy to hear whether the TN govt has done anything special towards keeping Mahakavi Bharathi's legacy alive-tell me how many have read Kalaignar's any work and compare that to the readership for Kalki or Sujatha!
